Twitch is now fully involved in the bidding wars of famous players, with three popular names that promise to remain on the platform that made them famous. Ben “DrLupo” Lupo, Saqib “LIRIK” Zahid and Timothy “TimTheTatman” Betar, will be broadcast exclusively on Twitch through multi-year agreements. Twitch did not disclose the term of the contract or the compensation detailed in the contracts. Twitch offers help keep the big fans developed by the three banners on the platform. DrLupo has 3.6 million followers, LIRIK has 2.5 million, while TimTheTatman has 4.1 million followers.
The contracts are the latest success of Loaded, a management company that oversees the three signing jobs. It is also the same company that runs Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, whose transfer to the Microsoft Mixer transmission platform has fueled the current confrontation due to an influx of talent.
This last announcement continues in the direction initiated by Blevins, since it chooses streamers for exclusive offers with platforms in exchange for guaranteed money. Michael Grzesiek’s “shroud” also moved to Mixer, while Jack “CouRage” Dunlop is now streaming exclusively on YouTube. Last month, Jeremy’s pioneer player “DisguisedToast” Wang signed an agreement with Facebook.
Twitch Tweezers hinted at Twitch’s next announcement during the past week, a tactic that has become a staple in promoting these movements. They manage millions of followers on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, and together they have obtained 550 million views on Twitch. The three started on Twitch around 2011 and 2012.
Twitch has been a very profitable platform for all three segments, either for its content or for other promotional offers in which they have participated. NFL’s widest receiver, JuJu Smith-Schuster, participated in an event that was seen Thursday night football with TimTheTatman on December 5.
As of October, Twitch owns 75.6% of the streaming market, YouTube ranks second with 17.6% and Facebook Gaming third with 3.7%, according to the quarterly Analytics report from StreamElements.
